How to Setup the automation rule

You can create the automation rule from the Automation Section - in the upper right via the “+ Create Automation”. You can find out more information here

 

Description

Stage Change automation enables you to use a stage change to initiate an action. This could be for example Clearing all assignees off a deal once the Status changes to “Lost” or “Unqualified”.

Supported Actions

 

Move Sale to funnel

The move Sale to funnel action will automatically move a sale/deal to another part of the funnel. All the possible stages will be selectable via a dropdown.

 

 

For example, the picture above shows that the action is to move the deal automatically to “Deal won or lost” as a result of the status of that deal changing to “Lost” or “Unqualified”.

Change Status

This will change the Status to either “Open” or Closed.

 

For example, we could set up a rule to have the deal change to Closed if a deal is considered “Lost” or “Unqualified”.

Assign Person

This will change the assigned person from one to another. The selectable users will be based on the team members that have been added, in the settings.

In the example above, we can choose to replace deals from the user “Maxime Nie” to the user “Vo Vu” every time an event is triggered. This could be done in order to have the right team member deal with the right stage in the deal (e.g: pre-sales, demo, post-sales).

Clear Assignees

This will remove the assigned person from the deal. The selectable users will be based on the team members that have been added, in the settings.

In the example above, whenever the event that triggers automation occurs, then the deal will remove the assignee if it is user “Maxime Nie”. This could be done when a deal is “Lost” or “Unqualified” in order to clear these users' funnel.

Update Column to

With this action, you are able to change the value of a “column” of a deal. In other words, one of the fields that you might have used to filter, and organize your data may be updated to something else. The data of a column can be found in the deal section.

For example, in the picture above, we can have the “Closed Deal Date” to be set to “Today” when the Status is changed from Open to Closed. The default automation suggestion has the value set in “Closed Deal Date” to “current date” when a Stage is changed to either “Lost” or “Won”.

Update Column from a value to something

With this action, you are able to change the value of a column from one state to another. This is similar to the previous.

Send to Slack channel

You can make it so that when the status change, a message is sent on Slack. See integration page for more information
