31-03-2025: Native Custom Fields/JQL/Automation for Jira, Onboarding Wizard
Native Custom Fields/JQL/Automation for Jira
We released some Jira Custom Fields that stem from Sales CRM Data.
These are named :
Account
Contact
Deal
As for any Custom fields in Jira, you will need to add them to screens and then add them to your Projects' layout. You can find more information on this here :
Create and set up work item screens | Atlassian Support
As a result, you will be able to display these fields directly in Jira’s UI! You could put it in the description, under the details or more field, etc. ---> The World is your Oyster!
Why use Custom Fields?
There are a few reasons why you might want to use Custom Fields:
1- Make it easier to find out the main deal, account, and contact related to the deal
2- Unlock the possibility of using JQL queries to find relevant tickets, issues, epics, etc.
3- Unlocks the possibility of using Jira’s reporting and dashboards
4- Unlocks the possibility of using Atlassian’s automation functionality to help find
Where can I find more information about Custom fields, JQL, and Automation?
You can find more information on this new Jira integration on our documentation page here
What does this mean for us?
This means that you will have the option of making things much easier to search AND be able to use some of Jira’s native functionality IN ADDITION TO the built-in features that we already have in Sales CRM. For example, you should be able to have some use cases for Automation for Jira that might be different than the built-in automation system from Sales CRM.
Onboarding Wizard
We added an Onboarding Wizard to help you and your instance users get the most out of Sales CRM.
The onboarding wizard can get accessed through the “?” icon from the Sales CRM navigation window.
In future versions, we want the onboarding wizard to be more interactive, guiding you throughout the various Sales CRM screens.
